Lately

We are rapidly approaching Anna Kate's THIRD birthday. Time really needs to slow down, I did not give it permission to pass so quickly!

Here are some photos of what has been going on over the past month or so. Mostly, we have been trying to enjoy time with our sweet girl before we become a family of four!

Art Day! We tend to enjoy coloring every day, so Mommy bought an "adult coloring book" so we can color together! On the upper right, Anna is "mess free finger painting". It was more satisfying for Mommy than AK, so it led to real painting of course. She had to wear her smock from Nanny, it is required for all messy activities!

Since Mommy can no longer help with most park activities, Anna Kate is getting quite bold and improving her coordination and courage at the playground. She has also started to become more friendly with other children, although it still usually takes a child who is a year or so older to initiate and hold the "friendship".

This is about as much trouble as this girl gets into while Mommy is busy with a chore. I came out from folding a load of laundry and she was snuggled up in her clean basket with lovey!

She is also really into puzzles! She can pretty much do this 24 piece Ariel puzzle on her own and is quite proud of herself!

Disney changed her perspective on dress up- these days it happens frequently!

See those black circles with lines? Flowers!

Safety first for Cinderella!

AK is a master helper in the kitchen. She enjoys measuring, pouring, and especially stirring. She is also a very willing taste tester!

More flower proof while we waited at the vet!

The dress up queen!

Going on a walk in the woods... this was very much inspired by Gigi and Ru cleaning up in the woods (THANK YOU!). It was also shortly followed by running out of the woods upon the realization that the deer lived there. She is weirdly afraid of deer.

A tea party! A birthday party! For Bear! And the cutest video ever....

Happy birthday to Bear.... Amen.

A visit to Discovery Place Kids... always trying something new- this time around, she both dressed as a mermaid and put some fluids into the play car. She is making sure to be well rounded.

Snow Days!

Everyone on the East Coast knows we had plenty of snow and ice due to Jonas. Anna Kate was super excited about the snow, and desperately wanted to build a snowman. Even though the snow wasn't the proper texture to build a snowman, we did end up having a lot of fun! It was especially fun that it fell on a Friday, so we got to have Daddy home early on Friday and for the whole weekend. Let's be honest, Daddy is a whole lot more fun in the snow than Mommy- especially when Mommy is pregnant. It was also much more fun as AK was gifted a sled/skimboard/slide on any surface board, and one of the women who works with Mark gave Anna an old disc sled that her kids had grown out of. We were very well prepared! All of these are phone photos, since I didn't really feel like having a nice camera out in the snow!

When we first got outside (when we got a break in the sleet/rain) she just ran around like a crazy person!

On her sweet new sled/funboard

Of course snow angels had to be made... because, this is Anna Kate.

Oh, you know, just rolling around down the hill, stopping to make a snow angel. The usual.

Obviously swing sets are even more fun in the snow!

When Daddy showed up, there was sledding! This one cracks me up. AK had no fear that she was about to go straight into the woods.

And another video, this little hill is two houses down from us and just right for a toddler.

You may not be able to tell from this distance, but this is Daddy on a snowboard, pulling Anna in a sled. Normal life.

She rode back from our trip around the corner like this.... Don't let the snow fun be over!!
