Mommy and Anna Kate

Before the baby came, I wanted to take some pictures with my first sweet girl. Somehow we kept putting it off, but we managed to get ready for church a little bit early on Sunday, the day before my due date. Taking advantage of both of us being dressed semi-nicely and having Mark home with the camera we took a few pictures together. I very rarely hold Anna Kate these days, for obvious reasons, so when I picked her up she immediately snuggled in close. In fact, the last time I picked her up like this she sat back and exclaimed, "is the baby out of your belly?!" and she will now ask me to sit down so she can cuddle.

Flower Girl!

Anna Kate really loved the strawberry plant that Gigi brought for her at Easter, so one day on a trip to Lowe's we picked out some flowers for Anna to plant that Mommy didn't think she would kill (easily). It is a highlight of AK's day to go out and water her plants- and now we even have a few more! Here, Daddy took some pictures of Mommy and Anna planting the new flowers.

Having lots of fun breaking up the clumps in the soil...

I mean... having LOTS of fun. Who knew all it took was a trowel and some clumpy dirt?

Smiling with my girl, and my 39 week baby bump...

She has started to become a little bit of a ham for the camera. Can you tell?

Beautiful big sister!

Haha... I'm pretty sure she was just being a ham here again.

Cutie ;)

Watering the new flowers!

She also watered the strawberry plant. And Bailey. I went out to the garage to put some things away... came back in and Mark was in the kitchen. I asked him, "Are you watching her?" to which he said "yes" without looking outside. Me: "Then why is she watering the dog?" Hahaha!

So proud of her strawberry plant and all of the red strawberries we have picked from it!

Before Baby

The past couple weeks we have been trying to spend some extra special time with Anna Kate before the baby comes. I have tried to document, using my phone, both special and some ordinary days too so that we can remember before time starts to fly even faster. Here are some of the things we have been up to...

For Easter, Gigi gave Anna a strawberry plant to take care of. She has taken her plant parent role very seriously and we have eaten many red strawberries!

Ready for anything!

Feeding Joe, Nana's horse at the barn!

Our Chick-Fil-A has started doing a "Preschool Playhouse" once a week where they have different groups and organizations come in and do lessons and crafts with preschoolers. This day, we went to see a pediatric dentist who had all of these stuffed animals with teeth for the children to practice brushing.

Many trips to Discovery Place Kids have been made- these events are on her repeat list when we go- get dressed up as a mermaid, ride the dolphin, and seen below, hit up the grocery store!

Enjoying the fruits of her labor- strawberries!!

A little globe time. She currently likes to point out home, where Disneyworld is, where Grandma Post lives, and where the kangaroos live.

Fro-yo trip before sister comes!

A new favorite activity- painting with "sidewalk chalk paint" (water, cornstarch, and food coloring). This was our first day doing it and we were outside for about an hour and a half painting and playing. We also learned to tone down the blue food coloring since it didn't rinse off as well as the other colors. Oops.

More driveway fun! This is our usual these days once Mommy gets worn out- bubbles and Anna Kate running around while Mommy holds down the folding chair.

Strawberry picking with Nana and Lisa! This is Nana's favorite spring activity, so we hit up the strawberry patch before baby came!

Practicing entertaining ourselves at home... Eating an apple in a box while drawing, and the every day princess dress up that happens!

Jesus Loves Me

I'll try to get a few posts up this week, depending on if baby girl decides to join us or not, but in the meantime, enjoy this video of our sweet first girl singing...

Happy Birthday Carter Bear!!

Last Saturday, we spent another afternoon in Ballantyne celebrating our favorite nephew, Carter bear! I'm not so sure after all of the recent events that he was convinced that all of the attention was for him, but he seemed to enjoy himself, as did everyone else!

Robert and Laura could not have gotten their swing set at a better time- it was a hit with all of the kids!

Little soccer star!

This also could have been known as the party where David and Anna Kate became BFFs. David brilliantly brought her a Margaret doll (from Daniel Tiger) and infinite attention, so she was sold!

AK figured out that David would take her to the swing set over and over again!

David figured out how exhausting it is to run around a swing set and push a three year old on a swing forever!

Gigi and Carter Bear!

Ru and Carter!

Practicing his baby modeling!

I meant to get a picture of Uncle Mark and Carter- they matched!

PARTY HATS!

The sweet set up!

Happy boy!

He wouldn't even share with his parents who survived the past year with a baby!

Trying out his present from Anna Kate!

The chaos. Carter- tearing paper and eating trash, Avery- opening all of Carter's presents for him, Anna Kate- hoarding the present "from" her "to" Carter

Oh Daddy, I'm hiding! Party's over!
