Welcome Home Baby Maddie!

When we finally saw all of the appropriate doctors on Tuesday morning, we were given the green light to come home and we headed out! We were ready to sleep in our own beds (for however little time we got to sleep) without someone coming in and waking us just when we had gotten to sleep. Gigi and Anna Kate made Mommy and Maddie a "Welcome Home" poster, and there was nothing sweeter than coming home to our first girl jumping and waving in the driveway!

Madison, in the Hospital

Here are a few more photos of all of us in the hospital. We had hoped to be discharged after 24 hours, but due to the fact that I was positive for strep B (a common thing in pregnancy) and I did not get to the hospital in time for antibiotics to be in my system for four hours, we had to stay for 48 hours.

Overall Maddie was unimpressed with her first trip in the car seat. She seems to have Mark's easy temperament for the most part so far!

First Day Visitors!

Given that we had our sweet girl very early in the morning (hello 3:42 AM), we had plenty of time for visitors the first day. Of course, those grandparents couldn't wait to get their hands on the new baby!

I'm back! I'm sure the blog posts will continue to be sporadic, given that my only free time is when I should be sleeping, but I will try to get caught up on the blog soon!

We didn't get too many photos during this part since Mark was also taking it all in, but here you can see how big Maddie was as they cleaned her off!

Getting all weighed in! 9lb 3oz! Our big girl!

When babies are above a certain weight limit, they have to have their blood sugar monitored. Maddie's was very low and she was having trouble maintaining her body temperature as a result. This meant that (after nursing and skin to skin didn't work) Daddy had to give her a supplement and she had to stay under warming lights. Fortunately all it took was one round of extra food and warming and she was back to normal!

Introducing Madison Leigh!

Happy Mother's day to all of the special Moms and Grandmothers in our lives that have helped us get to where we are and love us no matter what. We love you!!

After almost 41 weeks of waiting, we are so excited to welcome Miss Madison Leigh Rotman to our little family! Blogging may resume in time as we will have a million new pictures, but until then here is a little info and a few pictures of our new sweet girl!

After some false labor on Thursday, April 28, Mommy officially went into labor on Saturday April 30 in the afternoon around 3pm. We continued our regular routines, and everyone but Mommy went to bed on time Saturday. Around 1am I woke up Mark to let him know we were getting close. We got to the hospital around 2, and at 3:42 we welcomed our girl into the world! She weighed in at 9lb 3oz and measured 21 inches long.

Everyone is excited to have our little Maddie at home, especially Anna Kate! Thank you for all of your support and prayers as we adjust to our new little life!!
