Over the holiday weekend, we decided to take a little family trip up to the mountains! We had so much fun
last summer that we wanted to head back up and do it again, when Madison would actually stay awake for some of it! Big thank you to Nanny for letting us stay in the cabin, we love visiting the mountain house!
Back up to Beacon Heights!
Madison got to ride in the Kelty this time and get a better view!
On top of the world!!
Love those Daddy snuggles!
All of us on top of Beacon Heights!
Mommy and Daddy with our exploring buddies!
Pulled off at an overlook for a stroll in the wildflowers!
Madison flying high!
This girl! I get the best smiles out of her in the mountains :)
Elk River Falls! Anna Kate's first water fall "except for the one at mini golf" ha!
Me and my back pack kid checking out nature!
Relaxing by the falls!
We were going to go explore in the creek by the covered bridge... but then we found four copperheads out enjoying the sun. Needless to say we didn't stick around.
We stopped by the playground but it was too muddy. Madison obviously felt strongly about this.
All Daddy wanted to do was go canoeing... so we headed over to Price Lake, rented a canoe, and... had an experience. It was all fun and games until Madison decided she was absolutely done!
Teaching Anna Kate how to paddle. Sort of.
It was a wild ride, haha!
Also, we took the canoe that only had one seat. Which, was 100% convenient for our crew, as I'm not sure I would have wanted to be holding Madison sitting higher.
Life jackets and bumbos don't mix. Also, we were on the other side of the lake when she screamed us all the way back. Did I mention all of the canoes were pretty much rented and it was a full lake. Good times!
