Princess Tea Party!

The weekend before Thanksgiving, Anna Kate and I had the opportunity to do something very special just the two of us- we went to a real princess tea party! The event was a charity fund raiser thrown by Miss Queen City and was thrown at the Trump National golf course just a few miles away. I managed to get two tickets from a friend as it was a sold out event, and Anna Kate dressed in her favorite Cinderella dress to go to the tea party and see her "favorite princesses from Disney!". Overall, it was an alright experience, but if we do it again we will get there earlier and make it more of an "event" for Anna since we were running from place to place that day. The girls got to have lemonade, cookies and a small cupcake and there were lots of princesses to see. Belle read a story and Elsa did a sing along, and they gave each girl a little autograph book. One of my old students was also there as Miss Statesville, which made me feel O-L-D.

Oh and I brought a dead camera to the event, so here are some photos I got on my phone before it also died. At least we have the memories, huh?

Ready for a tea party in a fancy ballroom by the lake!

Tea party snacks! And lemonade!

Fancy ;)

A day with just my big girl!

Belle commented on how patient Anna Kate was (since about five girls ran in front of her while she waited).

Elsa!! Before the event, Anna said she didn't know if she wanted to meet Elsa, because she had snow and ice, haha. I told her Elsa wouldn't use her snow and ice at the party.

And the best... CINDERELLA!

Last photo before my phone died. But it was the BEST.

Visit to the Greensboro Science Center!

Over the first weekend in November, I had a baby shower for an old friend of mine and Mark's and my friends had just had a baby, so we decided to make a weekend of it since we rarely spend the night in Greensboro. We have always enjoyed the science center in Greensboro, so we decided to make it part of our weekend fun!

Visiting the touch tank.. those rays are pretty smart though. They never actually let her touch them.

Madison's first aquarium. Of course Daddy had to show her all of the things.

Anna inside of a bubble!

She's a turtle! (Mostly when eating a meal ;)

While Anna force fed the goats, Madison happily rode along.

Everyone checking out the monkeys. One was making a big show.

A Pteranodon! Also known as Anna Kate's favorite dinosaur.

Checking out fish and penguins with Gigi!

Madison Leigh, 6 months!

A half year with our sweet Madison!

This month we headed to the doctor for Madison's six month appointment. She is continuing on trend for being long and lean just like her sister. The doctor once again expressed a slight concern over Madison not gaining quite enough, so I decided to look back at Anna Kate's stats and it turns out she was in the same boat at her six month appointment (she only gained one pound between 4-6 months). Madison is happy, healthy, and still growing so we are happy!

Weight: 14lb 5oz, 17th percentile
Height: 26.5 in, 75th percentile
Head: 16.5'', 40th percentile
BMI: 14.3, 3rd percentile

Madison is meeting all of her milestones for six months- she can sit up for a few seconds, is rolling (on the same day as her doctor appointment she rolled several consecutive belly to back to belly rolls), coos and babbles, and enjoys trying some foods. This month she has really started expressing joy in seeing her Daddy which is fun. She gets very excited when he gets home! She has a new way of expressing her excitement too- she bobs her head back and forth and waits for your reaction. She continues to revel in her sister's attention, which makes my life much easier when I can send Anna Kate over to appease her while I finish up something. She is in general a very happy and easy baby!

We look forward to experiencing the holidays with our sweet girl!

No smiles for the camera in this bunch!

"Mom, seriously?"

Almost a smile. Look at my toes!

This sweet girl!

Yep, she's definitely six months!

And for fun, here is Anna Kate and Madison side by side in Mommy's baby dress! And one more below of Anna Kate at 6 months. Sometimes I think these girls look so much alike, and other days not at all!
