Halloween 2016!

This year Anna Kate got to experience a few new things for Halloween- her first costume parade at school and trick or treating in our neighborhood. We also went to the trail trick or treat we did last year, so we now have candy for the next 15 years. Turns out when you live in a neighborhood like ours (houses mostly further apart) everyone wants to unload all of their candy to your kid. At one house, the guy literally said, "well, I don't think we will be getting many trick or treaters, so let me fill you up!" and he proceeded to put candy in her bucket until it was to the top.

The best part of trick or treating this year was that Anna Kate really wanted to give candy to all of her neighbors. When I told her about how we would go around the neighborhood she said, "And give our peanut butter cups to all of our neighbors?!" I decided that despite the fact the adults would be more than confused, it couldn't hurt to encourage her to be a generous and giving person. So we made little treat bags of Reese's and she wrote "A" on a tag for them (she still struggles to write her name smaller than a size 150 font) and for each house she said trick or treat and handed them a bag. I then had to explain that she wanted to give her neighbors candy too, haha.

Here are some photos of our adventures with our little fairy and baby lamb!

Our little fairy with her teacher, Ms. Dawn, at the Halloween costume parade. She was very nervous this day, so I was not surprised to see her come out holding her teacher's hand. She did very well and smiled the whole time!

Activity one on Halloween: Painting pumpkins. We also carved one, but someone *AK* didn't want to get herself messy and there are no pictures because Mommy ended up doing all of it. Fun!

Next, we went to the Troutman Trick or Treat trail. I was impressed that neither girl got upset, as you can see behind them there were some scarier costumes around.

Sweet baby lamb, Madison. Also, thank you NC for being so warm that I don't have to put socks, pants, or really anything else on my baby for nighttime trick or treating.

Another picture of my sweet baby lamb. She kills me.

Both of my sweet girls together, ready to get (and give) some candy!

First, a sweet picture of my fairy. Thank you to Bar-Bar for the costume!
(I really loved that she chose to be something that we already had in our dress up supplies!)

And a series of photos of Anna Kate being super silly. One word. Candy.

October Phone Photos

Here are some fun pictures from October!

Fall photo fail.

Happy baby strikes again!

She really is the best kitchen helper. We tested a recipe. It was just okay, but it had sprinkles, which makes it awesome. To a three year old.

Madisons first cart experience. The way my Anna loves on her sister and loves experiencing things with her is the best gift!

Anna Kate invited us to her "animal show"... I love this photo.

Those eyes! Before and after the show...

This is the smile of a baby who got up way too early.

Waiting on Daddy for a weekday Salty Caper dinner!

Baby's first Chick-Fil-A?

Madison at the water table at Discovery Place Kids!

Other museum fun!

 Nothing like footie jammie snuggles.

After school & playground time. When did she turn 6?

Feeding the fish!

Learning about growing peas with Nanny. She took the peas to school!

Nanny's cake is the best!

I'll give you one guess as to which one AK added chocolate chips to...

I did not instigate this. Nor do I know the Anna who is mischievous. But first, a photo.

Upside down fall outfit smiles!

Poppin' wheelies!

Poppin' wheelies takes a lot out of a girl!

Madison's excited head wave. It is the best.

All done, October. Also the only photo from Carowinds ;)

To the Pumpkin Patch!

Mid October, we took a visit to the pumpkin patch with our friends. Anna Kate loved going through the patch to pick out her pumpkins and visiting the animals. Plus we got to ride on a hay ride. It was a wonderful fall time. We love this time of year!

Our little family, on a hay ride to the pumpkin patch!

Checking out the animals on the farm!

Feeding the goat the hay. He probably couldn't reach it.

Which pumpkin should we pick?!

This one!

Which way to the pumpkin patch?

She gets how to do fall pics.

Madison was thrilled.

Babies at the patch!
