Spoiled Rotman: Madison Leigh, One Month

I'm going to skip around just a little bit so that you can see our sweet Madison's one month photos. Mark was just starting to pick on me that I took weekly photos of Anna Kate when I showed him the blocks I got to take pictures of Maddie. So, while I am not so crazy this time to do weekly photos (well, I would love to, but I barely got it done with AK and definitely don't have the time), I will be doing monthly photos so we can watch her progress and change.

Madison's One Month Stats:
Height: 21.75in, 76th percentile
Weight: 9lb 10oz, 60th percentile
Head: 14.5 in, 57th percentile
BMI:14.3, 41st percentile

These stats have dropped Maddie's percentiles about ten percent in both weight and height, and oddly enough are almost identical to Anna's at one month where Anna jumped up about ten percent (and a whole pound!). The doctor said over the next two to three months she will level out to where she will be on the growth curve that she will most likely continue on for her youth.

This month, Madison has gone from being a sleepy sleepy newborn to a wakeful alert infant. She follows us with her eyes and has even already given us some "real" smiles (not gas) in reaction to silly faces and sounds we make. She is still sleeping downstairs, and wakes 1-2 times a night between 8/9pm-6/7am. She generally gives one long 5-6 hour stretch of sleep followed by a 3-4 hour stretch, so Mommy is getting some sleep in some nights! She cat naps in the morning, has a long afternoon nap, and catnaps in the evening. She is starting to share her humble opinions about being awake too long, having gas, or just letting us hear her voice. She is starting to coo as well. Oh, and she does not enjoy the carseat too much, so that is fun.
