While at the lake house in Virginia, Anna Kate got to go in the water for the first time. Although it was late in the summer, it was her first time swimming because it has A) been very rainy this summer and B) Daddy insisted that he got to be a part of this "first". Both Mark and I were raised as lake kids. Beach trips were few because Mark lived on the lake and my parents had the lake house in Virginia. So it is very fitting that Anna Kate's first water experience was in a nice cool lake. The first day at the lake it was very cloudy, so we thought "what a perfect opportunity!" because we wouldn't have to worry so much about the sun. Turns out, the cool water was not what baby girl had in mind.
The next day, we went out in the evening after a nice warm day, and things went a little better. We were in the water for probably 20 minutes or more, and Anna Kate was happy for the most part.
Daddy is so excited to introduce Anna Kate to the water.
Here we go! Someone is a little unsure.
