Coming home from Michigan, I fully expected for Anna Kate to get sick. We exposed her to extreme cold, the airport and its germs, and about 10 children under the age of 8 from 6 different families. So when her nose started running, she got cranky, and started waking at night I was prepared. We were able to stay home with the exception of a few errands for the week, but she progressively got worse, picking up a low grade fever by Wednesday. On Friday, her fever just wouldn't quit, so we went to the doctor and they confirmed she has an ear infection along with her cold, and more than likely has another tooth coming in soon (it is drool city around here, you can tell where she has been crawling by the wet, slug-like trail). Today, she added diarrhea to the list, although since Daddy got to change diapers this afternoon so that Mommy could get out and run some errands solo, I didn't know it was diarrhea and let her have some "free" time before her bath... and that is how we ended up with poop on the carpet.
So add the above (runny nose, fever, ear infection, diarrhea, not sleeping well) with some developmental milestones and two late-late nights of work for Mark, and it has been quite the joyride at the Rotman house this week! Developmentally, Anna Kate has started to go from belly to sitting up on her own (without an arm-prop, she has been doing with an arm-prop for some weeks), has improved her non-army crawl to include some all-fours crawling until she gets tired of going slow, and she has begun to pull up on some low objects like Mommy and her open changing table.
That was a lot of reading... It's okay if you skipped it. Here is our little sick cutie.

"But seriously... I'm tired."
"All is right with the world as long as I have these two fingers and my lovey." (except at 2am)
Pitiful.
"Can we read this book? And about 50 others?"
