Lazy Five Eggstravaganzaa!

So one of the items we wanted to check off of our list for Easter weekend was to go to a "zoo". Anna loves animals and we really wanted Mark to get to experience taking her somewhere to see them since he didn't get to go with us to ZooTastic over the summer/fall. We did some planning and investigating and decided that while we did want to go to a big zoo, we knew Anna would still need a nap and we didn't want to spend the greater part of our morning in the car. We settled for one of the smaller, more local zoos, and when Mark heard that Lazy Five Ranch was having an Easter egg helicopter drop... well, we all know at this point where we were going.

We loaded up early so as to try to avoid the crazies, and the day could not have gone better. We arrived a little while after they opened and spent 45 minutes wandering a small area with fenced in animals- mostly birds and farm animals, with some more exotic animals like kangaroos and camels. Then we headed to the "drop zone" and were part of the first egg drop of the day. After the drop, we gathered Anna's prizes, got a balloon hat and petted some bunnies- all in a good day's fun. After we had taken everything in, we drove through the ranch to see all of the bigger animals- more on that later!

We found an abandoned bucket of feed (we left ours in the car to feed the big animals) and of course Anna had to come back and feed her BFFs.
