Feed Me!

So Anna Kate has new habit we are trying to discourage. She used to only be entertained in the kitchen if she was playing in the pantry. No big deal, we keep things at floor level and enjoy our chips in small pieces. Mommy didn't mind as long as dinner could get fixed (no, Mark, dinner is not broken). Lately though, she has made the connection of which boxes and bags contain the foods she enjoys. We mostly feed her fruits, veggies, grains, dairy, etc that is not pre-packaged, but about once a day she gets a snack of crackers, goldfish, graham crackers, yogurt melts, whatever that come in nice shiny boxes and bags.

Within the last week or two, she has begun to find items she enjoys in the pantry or diaper bag, and she will bring them up to you to open and give her one. Sometimes, she tries to take it upon herself to open the food, but luckily she hasn't had too much success.

Mark took some photos of the event... Needless to say, the pantry stays closed a lot more now.

She already opened the box and pulled out the bag of "Cheddar Rockets".

Realization that Daddy is looking and knows how to open the bag.

"Here, Dad. It goes something like this..."

"I see your hands... you can use them, to open this bag for me. Right?"

Defeat. I'll just carry around these Cheddar Rockets until they open themselves.
