Spoiled Rotman: 13 Months!

So sorry for promising to get to blogging and then... not. I have no idea when I had time to blog so often. Oh wait, when Anna Kate used to take more than one nap and was asleep by 7. Yes, that's it. Anyways, Wednesday our little miss turned 13 months old! This past month, her development and personality has really seemed to blossom.

On her first birthday, she had very little interest in walking. She enjoyed holding onto furniture and cruising, but now she seems to enjoy taking a step once she lets go of furniture, as well as holding your hands and "walking". She also shows that she knows the word "walk", as there have been many times I have encouraged her when she is at the end of a table, couch, or holding onto a toy by instructing her to walk, and she looks down at her feet and then gives it a try!

We are in the process of moving into more "toddler" routines. Anna Kate frequently misses or refuses her morning nap, is starting to take less of an interest in eating (although she is by no means giving up her love of food!), and is almost weaned. Hopefully she will eventually learn to like cows milk! She enjoys playing ~~with~~ near her peers at the Y, nursery, and on play dates, and does not seem to have too much stranger anxiety, although she is still weary of any man who is not her Daddy. She is starting to actively use her sign language, at least to say more, but it is not very consistent. She waves when she feels like it, and we have occasionally heard what sounds like words! The other night, Bailey was begging at her high chair and I said "no, Bailey" and she looked down at Bailey and it sounded like the practically said the same thing!

This is her "Emma, stop licking me/giggle face". She sometimes crawls towards the dogs and just goes ahead and dips her head down like this and giggles. It is precious.
